Privacy policy
Version 2026-07-A · last updated 31 July 2026
This says what we collect when you sponsor a hole, why we need it, who else sees it, how long we keep it, and how to get it back or have it deleted. It is written to be read rather than to be defensible.
Who we are
JBMedia Hub Limited, trading as JB Golf Group. Registered in England. We also trade in the United States as JBMedia Hub LLC.
We are the data controller for everything described here. If you would rather talk to a person, golf@jbmediahub.co.uk or 0161 383 5070 reaches us.
What we collect, and why
Only what an order actually needs. Nothing is optional-but-required.
| Your name and role | To know who we are dealing with, and to record who accepted the agreement on behalf of the business. Lawful basis: performance of a contract. |
|---|---|
| Business name and legal entity | The trading name goes on the panel; the legal name is who the agreement binds. They are usually the same. Lawful basis: performance of a contract. |
| Email and phone number | To send your artwork proof, your receipt and anything we need to ask about your panel. Lawful basis: performance of a contract. |
| Billing address and tax number | Required on a VAT invoice, and used to work out the right tax rate. Lawful basis: legal obligation. |
| Your logo and any artwork you send | To design and manufacture your panel. You keep ownership; you licence us to reproduce it for the term. Lawful basis: performance of a contract. |
| A record of the agreement you accepted | The exact wording served to you, the time, whether the terms were scrolled to the end, who attested and on whose behalf. This protects you as much as us. Lawful basis: legitimate interests — evidence of a contract. |
| How you reached us | If you arrived from an advertisement we record which one, so we know which advertisements are worth running. Lawful basis: legitimate interests. |
What we do not collect
- Your card details. These go directly to Stripe. We never see or store a card number — we receive only the last four digits and the card type, on the receipt.
- Your location. The course finder can sort by distance if you ask it to. It asks your browser at that moment, uses the coordinates to sort the list, and does not send them to us or keep them.
- Anything you type into the panel preview before you reach checkout. The business name, strapline and logo you try out on the course page stay in your browser.
Who else sees it
- Stripe — takes the payment. They are the controller of your card data under their own policy.
- The golf club whose hole you sponsor — the club approves every sponsor on its course, so it is told your business name, your trade and which hole. It is not given your email address, phone number, billing address or card details.
- Our print and installation suppliers — receive the artwork and the hole number, and nothing else.
- Our accountants — receive invoices, because they have to.
- Meta and Google — if you arrived from an advertisement, a record that a purchase happened is sent back so the advertisement can be measured. Your name and contact details are not sent.
We do not sell your data, and we do not share it with anyone else's marketing.
How long we keep it
- Order and contract records — six years after the sponsorship ends, which is how long HMRC requires records to be kept.
- Artwork — for the term, plus twelve months, so a renewal does not start from a blank page.
- Enquiries that never became orders — twelve months, then deleted.
- Advertising attribution — twenty-four months.
What you can ask for
Under the UK GDPR you can ask us to give you a copy of everything we hold about you, correct anything wrong, delete it where we are not required to keep it, restrict what we do with it, or object to us using it. You can also ask for it in a portable format.
Email golf@jbmediahub.co.uk with “data request” in the subject. We will reply within one month and we will not charge you.
If we get it wrong you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or 0303 123 1113. We would rather you told us first.
Cookies
This site sets no cookies of its own and has no analytics or advertising tags on it. If you arrive from an advertisement, the click identifier travels in the web address and is passed to the order so the advertisement can be measured; it is not stored in a cookie. The map on the course finder loads tiles from OpenStreetMap, which will see your IP address as any web request does.
Sponsors in the United States
Orders at US courses are handled by JBMedia Hub LLC and are governed by the law named in your agreement. The same collection, sharing and retention described above applies. California residents have the additional rights given by the CCPA, including the right to know and the right to delete; the same email address reaches us.
Changes
If this policy changes materially we will email anyone with a live sponsorship. The version number at the top changes every time anything changes at all.
